Another successful audio installation recently completed, this time at the superb Rudy’s Pizza in Ancoats, Manchester.
Rudy’s was fitted with six ApartOVO5Ts in white with an Apart Concept 1 amplifier, happy customers, excellent pizzas.
The popular Mary and Archie café – bar, based on Burton Road Didsbury is to expand it’s business into a second venue in Chorlton, located on Manchester Road (opposite the old leisure centre).
Elli and Tom contacted us to provide a new sound system, to be designed for playing background music and to be used for DJ playback.
The installation will comprise of six Apart Mask 6 speakers with an Apart Revamp 2600 (running at 2 x 600 watts RMS into 4 ohms) with an Apart PM7400 MKII two zone mixer, a remote connection point for a DJ will be provided.
Plans for a future powered sub woofer are in the pipeline.
The new café – bar is due to open on Friday 19th February 2016, we wish Elli and Tom all the best with their new venue.

The refurbishment of Tampopo at the Corn Exchange in Manchester was a fantastic project to work on.
After consultation with David Fox of Tampopo, we designed the background music system to have four zones. These were split into three zones in the dining area and to keep the chefs happy, one zone in the kitchen.
Restaurant volume levels are adjusted by remote volume controls behind the bar with a separate control for the kitchen.
We supplied and installed 14 x Apart Mask 4BT’s in the restaurant with 2 x Apart Sub165s for bass, the kitchen has 4 x Apart CM20 ceiling speakers. Control is by a Cloud electronics Z4 MkII mixer, system is powered by a Cloud electronics CXV425 4 channel 100v power amplifier.
The toilets have a separate system comprising of an Apart Concept 1 amplifier and Apart Mask 4 speakers, the loo system continously plays a loop of the background sound in Bangkok Airport.

Continuing the fascination with the Manchester warehouse club scene, the owners of the new secret club ( in North Manchester) & Sixthsound gave us a blank canvas to play with.
To bring life in the old tyre warehouse we fitted four small Ledj3hex12 pars to the columns, four Ledj 9Q8 RGBWpars over the dj booth with two Equinox Lightning Cracker 2 strobes and two Acme 25 watt dynamic scans. To enrich the atmosphere we supplied then with a huge QTX FH1500 haze machine. The DJ’s have full control of the led lights via a Transcencion LED Master 64 desk and the Equinox strobe controller at the dj table.
Given the relatively low cost of the installation, the results look excellent, plus as all the lighting gear is LED based, it has low power consumption and no lamps to replace.
The owners, DJ’s and punters are very pleased with the finished product.
The sound system comprises of a beefy Sixthsound 6 x TRS218 subs with 4 x TRS212 tops powered by MC2 E- series amplification, there is some “REAL” bass weight in there !!!
I do like the way that the owners of this club just get on with the job in hand, they are not big on social media yet these well packed events are kicking off.

Hmm… now then, I think a mirrorball in the centre will go down nicely.
The new owners of Pod contacted us to purchase a new background music system, with the capability to use it with a DJ during the evenings.
We agreed on the installation of 4 x Apart Mask 6 wall speakers in white, an Apart Sub165A and an Apart Concept 1 amplifier, sounds great with a happy customer.
We’ve made and uploaded a video for you to YouTube as a guide to the “Projector Basics”. It covers projector mounting, keystone adjustment and positioning, ideal for newcomers to projector selection etc. More videos up here soon.
As part of their expansion plans, VOLTA called on us to install a background music system in their newly refurbished upstairs room.
The owners who also own ELEKTRIK bar in Chorlton like to do this different, this is the same when it comes to their audio installations.
The whole system is powered by an Apart Concept 1 two zone amplifier with remote, volume levels are limited to protect the installation and to avoid any potential noise complaints.
Future plans are to distribute the audio from downstairs across two floors.
